Buffalo - Dog Friendly City

Everyone knows that dog is man's best friend. Dogs are part of the family, and you want to take them everywhere with you. As it continues to warm up, people in Western New York are looking for ways to have fun outdoors and include their pets. While it isn't always easy to find dog friendly places, such as parks, trails, and even restaurants, Buffalo does have some great spots to take your dog and have some fun! This brochure project will highlight some of the best spots to take your dog in the area. These spots will include parks, trails, and businesses to give a variety and appeal to more people.

The brochure will be trifold, and will list the places in the respective categories chosen by the group. There will also be pictures of the places listed, and of dogs to convey the dog friendly message to the viewer.  The colors will be light and happy, and the visuals will go around the text. Pictures will include nature as well as businesses.

One section will cover local business that allow you to bring your pet, one section will cover dog parks, and one section will cover dog friendly hiking trails. These sections can appeal to different kinds of breeds and owners, and make sure every owner and pet can have a great experience. All of the sections fit together in the theme of dogs and owners and what they can do together in the area. The brochure will appeal to dog owners and particularly active ones.

  1. the first thumbnail ideas from McKenzie are the strongest of the group; it's understood where she is going with this brochure, and she did a good job of staggering the inside panel with flipping the images and the subheads, so it isn't monotonous. Perhaps use the “WNY Guide for Pets and their Humans” could be the subhead, and something dog related, like “Want to Go Out?” could playfully gear this brochure towards the dogs, and where to take their owners.

Rayanne - please update your thumbnail so there are images on all thumbnails. And that it doesn't merely say “title” - it states what the header should be.

Jenna - as mentioned in class, please revisit your thumbnails so they are complete. These are incomplete as it is not understood since you have a lot of things missing. Headers, subheads, bodycopy thoughtfully created... friendly reminder; please make sure to create these thumbnails thoughtfully so it's communicated how you want the layout to be.
